World Veterinary Day Celebrated at Habiganj Agricultural University
On Saturday, April 25, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science at Habiganj
Agricultural University proudly celebrated World Veterinary Day 2026, centering on the global
theme, "Veterinarians are the Guardians of Food and Health." The festivities began at 10:00 AM
with a vibrant rally organized by the faculty. Starting from the front of the university’s
administrative building, the procession traveled through various campus roads before returning
to its starting point, bringing together students, faculty members, and staff in a unified display of
professional pride.
Following the rally, a special discussion session was held to explore the significance of the
profession. The event was graced by Professor Dr. Syed Sayeem Uddin Ahmed, Vice-Chancellor
of Habiganj Agricultural University, who attended as the Chief Guest. The keynote address was
delivered by Dr. Md. Ridoan Pasha, Assistant Professor of the Department of Physiology,
Biochemistry, and Pharmacology at Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University.
Mohammad Amjad Hossain, Executive Director of ACI Animal Health, attended as a Special
Guest, while the session was presided over by Dr. Salauddin Yousup, Lecturer of the Anatomy
Section within the Department of Pre-clinical Science at the university.
The celebration was marked by lively academic discourse and active student engagement
throughout the day. The event reached its climax in the evening with a spectacular cultural
program titled "The Vet Night." Through various performances, the program highlighted the
unity, talent, and enthusiasm of the veterinary community. Ultimately, the day’s activities served
to emphasize the vital role of collaborative efforts in ensuring animal health, safeguarding public
health, and promoting sustainable development.
