HAU Marks 4th Anniversary with Colorful Celebrations

Habiganj Agricultural University celebrated its 4th anniversary with a colorful and grand event. On Tuesday, December 17, at 12:00 PM, a vibrant rally was organized from the premises of Habiganj Circuit House to mark the occasion.

The event was graced by the presence of Professor Dr. Syed Sayeem Uddin Ahmed, Vice-Chancellor of Habiganj Agricultural University, Mohammad Rezaul Haque Khan, Superintendent of Police of Habiganj, Pravangshu Som Mohan, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General), along with district officials from the Agriculture, Fisheries, Livestock, and Food Departments, and faculty members, students, and staff of the university.

The rally began with the release of balloons and white doves, symbolizing peace and prosperity. The procession marched through Press Club Road, concluding back at Circuit House. Following this, a cake-cutting ceremony was held to commemorate the university's anniversary.

Students from the Faculties of Agriculture, Fisheries, Livestock, and Veterinary Sciences participated in the celebration with colorful banners, singing, and dancing to showcase their enthusiasm for agricultural education.

Speaking at the event, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Syed Sayeem Uddin Ahmed emphasized that Habiganj Agricultural University will play a crucial role in the development of agriculture in Habiganj and the Haor region through education and research. He also extended his best wishes to all attendees on the occasion of the university's anniversary.

In the evening, a cultural program was held at the university's temporary campus, featuring performances by students. The celebrations concluded with a grand annual banquet, where faculty members, students, and university staff gathered to enjoy the festivities.

Habiganj Agricultural University was established on December 17, 2020. Currently, the university operates from a temporary campus, offering academic programs in three faculties. Additionally, the university's faculty members are actively engaged in several research projects aimed at advancing agricultural science and innovation.
