HAU Students Experience Virtual Reality

Students of Habiganj Agricultural University have gained hands-on experience with Virtual Reality (VR) technology. For the first time, the university's ICT Cell organized an event titled “Immersive Futures: A Virtual Reality Experience” to introduce faculty members and students to VR technology.

The first phase of the event took place on Tuesday, November 26, at 11:00 AM, with participation from faculty members and students of the Faculty of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine. The event was honored by the presence of Professor Dr. Syed Sayeem Uddin Ahmed, Vice-Chancellor of Habiganj Agricultural University, as the chief guest. Other attendees included Dr. Md. Abu Bakar Siddique, Assistant Proctor; Chayanika Pandit, Associate Student Affairs Advisor; Abdullah Al Mamun, Lecturer and Team Lead of the ICT Cell; and faculty members from various departments of the Faculty of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine.

Speaking at the event, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Syed Sayeem Uddin Ahmed stated,

"This initiative aims to familiarize students of Habiganj Agricultural University with cutting-edge Virtual Reality technology. In the future, students will be able to enhance their practical knowledge using VR and even attend lectures by some of the world’s leading professors."

Using Meta Quest Pro, students of the Faculty of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine explored the behavioral patterns and dietary habits of different animals in a virtual environment.

According to the university’s ICT Cell, similar "Immersive Futures: A Virtual Reality Experience" events will soon be organized for faculty members and students of the Faculty of Agriculture and Faculty of Fisheries in a phased manner.
