The First Scientific Seminar was held at Habiganj Agricultural University
On Saturday, May 24, Habiganj Agricultural University hosted it’s first-ever Annual Scientific Seminar in the classroom of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science, located on the third floor of Academic Building-1. The seminar featured discussions on research and technological advancements in the fields of agriculture, livestock, fisheries, and environmental science. The seminar's chief patron was the university's Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Syed Sayeem Uddin Ahmed. The Chief Guest was Professor Dr. Masuma Habib, Member of the Bangladesh University Grants Commission (UGC), and the keynote speaker and special guest was Professor Dr. Abed Chowdhury, Chairman of Krishan Foundation and Adjunct Professor at Notre Dame University. The Vice-Chancellor stated that the seminar would open a new horizon in research and innovation, with the aim of ensuring sustainable development in agriculture and related sectors. He further mentioned that the primary goal of the seminar is to foster a research-oriented mindset among students, teachers, and researchers. Faculty members from various departments of the university participated in the seminar. Presenters shared the results of their research and engaged in discussions on the challenges and prospects of the country’s agricultural system. The seminar emphasized topics such as agricultural production, climate change, soil and water management, livestock development, and agriculture-based technologies. Guests at the seminar expressed that such events would inspire young researchers and contribute significantly to the advancement of the country's agricultural sector. Welcoming the initiative of Habiganj Agricultural University, participants expressed hope that similar initiatives would continue to be organized regularly in the future.
