Habiganj Agricultural University Celebrates Pohela Boishakh 1432

On Monday (April 14), Habiganj Agricultural University organized a day-long series of events to celebrate Pohela Boishakh 1432, the Bengali New Year. From the morning, the university campus was filled with a festive atmosphere as preparations began to welcome the New Year.The day began with a Mongol Shobhajatra (auspicious procession) led by the university’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Syed Sayeem Uddin Ahmed. The procession started from the administrative building and paraded around the campus. Teachers, officials, staff, and students actively participated in it. The procession showcased various elements of Bengali culture, including puppets, masks, traditional floor art (alpana), and folk musical instruments.Later, a discussion meeting and cultural program were held in the university auditorium. In his speech, the Vice-Chancellor said, Pohela Boishakh is a symbol of our national and cultural unity. Our main objective is to instill patriotism, cultural awareness, and a sense of social responsibility among the students of the Agricultural University.The cultural program featured music, dance, recitations, and drama, with students bringing the event to life with their creative talents. At the end of the event, a variety of traditional Bengali foods were served for the guests.The entire campus was beautifully decorated for the occasion. The festival grounds were open to all, courtesy of the university. Habiganj Agricultural University remains committed to continuing such celebrations in the future to awaken cultural and traditional consciousness among its students.
