Fire Drill Held at Habiganj Agricultural University
On Tuesday (11 March) a special fire drill was conducted at Habiganj Agricultural University to ensure fire safety and enhance disaster management capabilities.
The drill was held at 10:30 AM in front of the Academic Building-1, in collaboration with the Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defense. The team provided hands-on training on how to respond quickly during a fire, control flames, and carry out rescue operations effectively.
The event was attended by Professor Dr. Syed Sayeem Uddin Ahmed, Vice-Chancellor of the university, along with faculty members, students, and university staff. Also present was Mohammad Abul Kalam Azad, Deputy Assistant Director of the Fire Service and Civil Defense, Habiganj District.
During the drill, the Vice-Chancellor said ‘Preparedness is crucial in handling fire incidents. Through this drill, our students will gain practical experience and become more aware of how to respond to any such emergencies in the future.’
Additionally, the Fire Service team provided guidance on installing and using fire extinguishers at key locations across the campus.
The university authorities have assured that such drills will be conducted regularly to ensure that students and staff are well-equipped to handle emergency situations effectively.
