July Uprising Revival Observed at Habiganj Agricultural University
Two-Day Commemoration Includes Film Screening, Testimony Sharing, and Tribute to Martyrs
Habiganj, July 17, 2025 – Habiganj Agricultural University (HAU) organized a two-day program titled “July Uprising Revival” on July 15 and 17 to honor the historic sacrifices and memories associated with the July Movement.
The event was presided over by the Honorable Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Dr. Syed Sayeem Uddin Ahmed, and was attended by faculty members, students, and dignitaries from various departments.
On July 15, the program commenced at 5:15 PM at Academic Building-1, where a screening of documentaries related to the July Uprising was held in the classroom of the Faculty of Animal Science and Vetenary Medicine.
The event continued on July 17 at the same venue and time with a special segment titled “Remembering July”, where victims and survivors of the July Movement shared their firsthand experiences of the tragic events and personal losses. These stories provided a powerful and emotional insight into the movement’s impact.
Later that evening, at 7:00 PM, attendees viewed two poignant films: “Teachers in July” and “Abrar Fahad”, further commemorating the lives lost and sacrifices made during the July movement.
The event was marked by deep respect, reflection, and a renewed sense of commitment to uphold the values of justice, freedom, and student activism. Attendees included university officials, teachers, staff, and a large number of students.
