Chayanika Pondit is a dedicated academic and research professional, currently serving as an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Fisheries, Habiganj Agricultural University, Bangladesh. With a strong academic background and a profound commitment to research and teaching, she contributes significantly to the advancement of knowledge in the field of fisheries science.Chayanika earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University, Gazipur, in 2014 and 2024, respectively. Her passion for fisheries science motivated her to embark on a professional career immediately after completing her MS degree. Over the course of seven years, she has built a robust professional portfolio focusing on various aspects of aquatic ecosystems and biodiversity.Her research interests span a wide array of topics, including the effects of pollution on fish and shellfish reproduction, genetic diversity in fish populations, and the conservation of endangered fish species. She is also deeply involved in studies related to fish reproductive strategies, population dynamics, shellfish reproductive biology, and the overall biodiversity of aquatic ecosystems. A significant part of her work is dedicated to developing conservation strategies through innovative breeding programs aimed at ensuring sustainable fisheries and maintaining ecosystem health.Driven by a passion for integrating research with practical conservation initiatives, Chayanika strives to bridge the gap between academic inquiry and actionable solutions. Her efforts contribute not only to the academic environment but also to the broader goal of sustainable fisheries management, fostering a healthier and more resilient aquatic ecosystem.
