Sharmin Ahmed serves as a Lecturer in the Department of Fisheries Biology and Biodiversity within the Faculty of Fisheries at Habiganj Agricultural University. She holds a Master of Science (MS) degree in Fisheries Biology and Genetics from Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University, Dinajpur. Her research interests encompass a wide range of topics within fisheries science, with a particular focus on fish biology and genetics, aquatic pollution and climate change, biodiversity, and the conservation of aquatic organisms in both freshwater and marine ecosystems. She is especially dedicated to the study and preservation of endangered aquatic species, aiming to address critical challenges in maintaining ecological balance and ensuring sustainable management of aquatic resources.
