Dr. Mohammad Aminul Islam is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Plant Pathology at the Faculty of Agriculture, Habiganj Agricultural University. His academic and research expertise spans bioaugmentation, phytoremediation, plant disease management, molecular plant-microbe interactions, and the application of machine learning algorithms for disease identification and management. Dr. Islam is dedicated to advancing knowledge in plant health and crop protection, connecting scientific discoveries with practical solutions to empower farmers and stakeholders in addressing plant diseases effectively.
He holds a PhD from the University of Malaya and has an extensive publication record in peer-reviewed journals. His research highlights innovative approaches such as phytoremediation, improving soil health through rhizobacteria, bioaugmentation for soil enhancement, and strategies for plant disease management aimed at boosting agricultural productivity and ensuring food security.
Dr. Islam also possesses a Master’s degree in Plant Pathology, with a focused research background in mango seedling diseases. During his Master’s studies, he was awarded the prestigious National Science and Information & Communication Technology (NSICT) Fellowship by the Ministry of Science and Information & Communication Technology, Bangladesh, in recognition of his academic excellence.
As an educator, Dr. Islam is committed to shaping the next generation of agricultural professionals. He leads courses on topics such as basic plant pathology, plant disease epidemiology, diagnostic techniques, and sustainable disease management. Additionally, he actively participates in outreach programs to promote agricultural sustainability, ensuring that his research and teaching contribute to both academic advancements and practical agricultural solutions.
