Biography
DR. Shadia Tasnim is a Lecturer in the Section of Pathology under the Department of Paraclinical Sciences, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Sciences, Habiganj Agricultural University, Bangladesh. She is an enthusiastic academician with strong interests in teaching, research, and capacity building in veterinary pathology and infectious diseases. DR. Tasnim completed her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU), where she demonstrated excellent academic performance. She later earned her Master of Science (MS) in Pathology from the same institution. She also achieved MCVS (Members of the College of Veterinary Surgeons) from Bangladesh College of Veterinary Surgeons (BCVS), During her MS program, she conducted research on the pathogenicity of low pathogenic avian influenza viruses of migratory bird origin in land-based poultry, with particular emphasis on pathogenesis and pathology study of respiratory viral diseases of poultry. Her research experience extends beyond avian species and, includes work on viral diseases of large animals, zoonotic diseases, antimicrobial resistance, one health issues and the pathology and pathogenesis of infectious diseases. Through her academic and research activities, she has developed a strong foundation in disease investigation, diagnostic pathology, and public health–related veterinary issues. In recognition of her research excellence, DR. Tasnim was awarded the National Science and Technology (NST) Scholarship for her MS research work. She also received the prestigious NEF Scholarship from Japan for her outstanding academic results during her undergraduate studies. DR. Tasnim is deeply committed to quality education and student mentorship. She is highly motivated to contribute to academic excellence, innovative research, and the advancement of veterinary science at the national and global levels.
