Biography
My name is Dr Amaily Akter, and I am currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Soil Science at Habiganj Agricultural University, Bangladesh. Alongside my academic responsibilities, I am also working as the Acting Associate Director of HAURES, where I contributes to research coordination, academic collaboration, and institutional development. These roles allow me to combine my passion for teaching, research, and academic leadership.
I completed my PhD in Soil Science from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) in 2023, a journey that significantly deepened my understanding of Soil Science, Soil Microbiology, Soil Chemistry, Nutrient Dynamics, Soil Fertility, Clay mineralogy, Redox Processes, and Sustainable Soil Management. My research experience at UPM strengthened my commitment to contributing to agricultural development through scientific knowledge and practical solutions.
In my academic work, I am particularly interested in areas such as soil pH and buffering capacity, soil microbial behavior, soil temperature, ion exchange, consistency, and the chemistry of submerged soil properties influence plant growth and environmental sustainability. These interests guide both my teaching and research activities.
As a teacher, I strive to create a supportive and engaging learning environment. I believe in simplifying complex concepts so that students can understand the science behind soil processes with clarity and confidence. I encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and hands-on learning among my students.
My professional goal is to continue contributing to soil science research while helping young learners grow academically. I am committed to using my knowledge and experience to support sustainable agriculture and inspire the next generation of scientists.
