Faculty of Science and Technology
The Faculty of Science and Technology is a multidisciplinary academic unit consisting of six departments: Agricultural Mechanization, Computer Science, Rural Sociology, Agricultural Economics, Biostatistics, and Biochemistry. It is committed to delivering high-quality education and fostering cutting-edge research that addresses contemporary challenges in agriculture, rural development, and technology. Each department brings specialized expertise, enabling students to acquire the knowledge and skills needed for innovative problem-solving and professional growth.
Mission
Agricultural Mechanization focuses on advancing mechanized solutions for sustainable agriculture, while Computer Science drives innovation in computational and digital technologies. Rural Sociology explores social dynamics to promote rural development, and Agricultural Economics emphasizes efficient resource allocation and policy planning. Biostatistics provides essential tools for research in biological and agricultural sciences, and Biochemistry delves into the molecular and biochemical foundations of life with applications in agriculture and the environment.
Vision
The Faculty of Science and Technology also plays a pivotal role in inter-faculty collaboration, offering courses to the Faculty of Agriculture, the Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Science, and the Faculty of Fisheries. These courses strengthen students’ understanding of science and technology, covering areas such as crop and soil management, animal health, feed production, aquatic biochemistry, fishery economics, and technology-driven aquaculture solutions. By integrating fundamental and applied sciences, the faculty equips graduates with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in academia, industry, and policymaking while contributing to sustainable development.
